Playing and Associated Rules

This section, not surprisingly, is the most visited section of the EPA website - so we have rearranged these pages to make it easier for you to find your way around.

Following an EGM on 3rd December 2022, the EPA agreed to start using the International 8 Ball Pool Rules for its main events from 1st January 2023. Individual leagues are of course, still entitled to use any rules they wish to play. If your league wants to use World Rules they can do so. Similarly, if your league want to use rules such as the black to be played "wrong-handed" with both eyes shut, that too is OK (it might make the games go on a bit longer though!). National events including Interleague and Intercounty will from 1st January 2023, be played to the International Rules.

We have pdf downloads of the latest version of the International Rules published in 2021 and the World Rules issued in 2019. This contains all the latest standard rules of the WEPF.

We also have pdf Guidance documents for Referees.
