National Senior Grand Prix 2011

Players Lounge Stoke on Trent 25th Sept 2011

Our Senior Referee for today was Robert Shore.

This event was played in 4 groups of 8 with 2 players from each group going through to the Quarter finals.
Over the days play there was some very interesting matches played and a lot of quality shots played too.

Into the Quarter finals. 2 matches Tony Bowles v Dave Styles and Tony Carr v Tony Kay were 1-4 respectively.
Chris Littler v Brian Robinson,well what can I say, Brian was definitely on a mission here and stormed through 0-4.
John Betts v Bill Rigby went to the deciding frame,with Bill just edging it.3-4.

Semi finals
Brian v Dave went to the wire,with a good finish from Dave to take the final frame 3-4.
Bill v Tony this was a whitewash for Tony 0-4 but in all fairness to Bill did not portray the actual pool played in the frames.

So on to the final between Dave Styles and Tony Kay. By this time a lot of people had gone,but I can honestly say some excellent pool was played. Tony Kay eventual winner 2-5.
Although I must mention that Dave played my shot of the tournament in frame 5. Sweet as a nut to pot his last ball and get on the black to win that particular frame.
