The National Junior Championships took place over the weekend of 24th/25th November which saw players from up and down the country congregate at the Club 147 in Leicester to compete for the Under 18 and Under 16 titles. As day 1 kicked off, the Under 18 entrants played to the Swiss System and it soon became evident it was the younger players that were hungry for the title and favourites including 5 of the 9 England players quickly fell by the wayside. The start of day 2 saw the last 16 players compete in the straight knock-out section and long hard matches were fought. The final eventually saw a tussle between Warwickshire's Josh Kane up against England Junior/GMC's Aaron Davies. With a match too close to call it was Aaron who held his nerve in the final frame to clinch the win 6 / 5.

The Under 16s was no less exciting with 37 runners including double champion Jordan Young making the journey from Durham once again. There was, without doubt, some fantastic pool played on Sunday by youngsters who will certainly make names for themselves in the future, ensuring the future strength of the EPA. In the end it was home lad Louis Heathcote from Leicester who reached the final and with the 2010 runners up title already under his belt this young man was determined to fight all the way for the top honour. His opponent was seasoned player and no surprise Jordan Young who was not going to give his title away easily. These two great juniors battled through a very close final which eventually saw Jordan retain the title for the third consecutive year.
